Three days of walking, mostly on trails, brought us to the intersection of Skyline Blvd. and Highway 92, just south of the San Francisco Water Department property. These were delightful days with many of my friends joining us for several miles each day. One day we were treated to a lunch and presented with resolutions by the Midpeninsula Regional Open Space District, the San Mateo County Board of Supervisors and the San Mateo County Parks and Recreation Commission commending us for our walk.
The walk through the watershed was interesting, but was nowhere near the water. We wondered what their big worry was. About 20 people joined us including Clifford Janoff and Doug Kerseg and his two daughters and granddaughter. We were supposed to have lunch at an area called the Five Corners. But after a little scouting, we found a much nicer spot about 500 feet away.
At the Portola Discovery Site on Sweeney Ridge, the fog was thick and the wind incessant. But then Pacifica and Daly City aren't known for their good weather. We cruised up and down several streets in Daly City and wondered if we were going to find a good lunch spot.
Bob Green, who had been hiking with us since yesterday, assured us that he would find us a good place. He and Steve Prokop had planned our route so that we wound up at Bob's house for lunch.
